Harness up and feel the wind in your face as you “Zziippp” down breath-taking ziplines which traverse down the mountain tree to tree. Their experienced guides launch and receive you at each tree deck, so you are able to sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. Gaze at the spectacular views of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkable mountain range as the guides deliver light-hearted but interesting details on local history, myths, legends and ecological principals at each suspended tree-house.

With two tours to choose from it is suitable for everyone, whether looking for an introduction into Queenstown adventure or wanting the latest gripping eco- exhilaration, featuring the steepest tree to tree zipline in the world.
Kea 6-Line Tour: For those with an enhanced appetite for adrenaline and wanting to finish back in town. The Kea encompasses and extends the Moa course with two extra ziplines and a stunning guided trek through ancient native beech forest. The awe-inspiring finale is the steepest tree to tree zipline in the world which reaches speeds of 70kph!
Tours run throughout the day, every day of the year All tours include either 4 or 6 separate ziplines (depending on tour chosen) and a guided trek through ancient native beech forest. Guests are encouraged to wear suitable outdoor clothing. Guests are required to wear closed toe footwear. Sheltered platforms minimize exposure to the elements. Tours include light stair climbing and trail walking. Guests must be able to walk unassisted. Weight and age restrictions apply
Restrictions & Notes:
Ziptrek has a minimum age of 6 years and a minimum weight requirement of 30kg (65lbs) to participate in a Ziptrek Ecotour. Our maximum weight limit on both tours (Moa & Kea) is 125 kgs/275 lbs) We offer Tandem Zip-lining for all guests under the min weight requirement of 30kgs / 65 lbs available on the Moa tour only, this must be pre-booked so please contact the guest services desk to confirm space. Please note that all guests under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a full paying adult. Guests between 15 – 18 years of age may participate without a parent, but the parent/guardian must complete the Release of Liability form in advance (copy attached). It is not recommended that people with heart, cardiovascular or respiratory illness take part in Ziptrek. Pregnant women are not permitted on Ziptrek Ecotours. Guests should be informed to be prepared with any allergy medications they require (Please ensure you notify Guest Services at time of booking). Guests should be informed that the tour includes some stair climbing and hiking and to be prepared for light physical exertion. However if you can walk, you can Ziptrek. No smoking, drugs or alcohol are permitted on the tour at any time Ziptrek Ecotours is in no way obligated to complete a tour if one or more participants are found to be endangering themselves, others or the environment. Refunds will not be given to those individuals in these situations.
Participants should dress for the weather (it is a few degree cooler up in the mountain than in town and in the shade of the tree canopy). Queenstown is an alpine environment, please bring extra layers. Comfortable clothing and hiking boots or good athletic footwear is recommended. Closed toe shoes are required to participate on Ziptrek due to health & safety. Bags, purses and backpacks are not allowed on the tour for safety reasons. Guests should be informed to leave these items behind them, where possible, or they can drop them into our booking office in town at 45 Camp Street, Queenstown. Whilst we do provide storage for a few items up on course, which can be returned at the end of the Tour, this is limited to the Moa tour only. Cameras are encouraged, providing they fit into a zippered pocket. Any loose items must be zipped into pockets prior to riding the zipline. Long hair should be held back with an elastic band. We provide wet weather gear, when appropriate and hats and gloves (in winter) which can be borrowed at the start of the tour. Harnesses and helmets will be provided.
The Kea 6 - Line tour
Is a faster, longer and unique way of travelling down the mountain. The journey begins at the tree-house and brings you back down to the bottom by the base building of the gondola. This tour includes a beautiful guided journey through our ancient native beech forest.

Ziptrek tours depart from our Treehouse on top of the Gondola Mountain. Guests must check in 15 mins prior to their tour at this location.
