Never scuba dived before then your in for a treat. On Phi Phi we have some of the best diving in Thailand and at Barakuda with a maximum ratio of 2 student divers to one instructor you will not be disapointed.
The Discover Scuba Diving course is ideal for beginners with no dive license with all the equipment rental, lunch and dive costs included in the price.
We run these courses with a normal ratio of 2 customers to 1 instructor.
The program includes a briefing on the do's and don’ts of scuba diving and then a short session (10-15 minutes) in shallow water learning the basic diving skills that students will need for their dives. Following this there a 2 dives on the reefs to the south of Phi Phi Don with each dive up to 1 hour under water (maximum of 2 hours diving in total). The dives are from our boat.
All prices include equipment, lunch and a dive instructor. We have dive computers on our regulators, we use 5mm boots and open heel fins to prevent blisters on your toes, we can offer you a long wetsuit if you tend to get cold and 15 liter tanks if you use a lot of air.
Once the dive boat leaves your instructor will brief you on the dive procedures and skills that you will be undertaking as well as teaching you how to use the dive equipment. The journey to the first dive site takes 30-40 minutes.
At the start of the first dive, in shallow water, your instructor will teach the dive skills you will need for your dives. Once you have mastered he basic skills your instructor will take you into deeper water for your first hour of diving.
Between the dives you will be offered lunch on the dive boat, during good conditions we moor up in the famous Maya bay for lunch.
The second dive is pure fun, with no skills to learn your instructor takes you on a tour of the reefs to a maximum depth of 12 meters.
