Through the Central Australian landscape, we’ll take you down the very edge of the Finke River and into the amazing Palm Valley. You’ll see the important sights and visit an Aboriginal community, Hermannsburg, known to the local Arrernte people as ‘Ntaria’.

Day 1 : Palm Valley Outback Safari by 4WD
• You’ll arrive at the best time of the day to see the Amphitheatre. Also known as Kalaranga, this group of red sandstone formations is particularly striking as the early morning sun leaves a glow of amazing light and colour across the landscape • Arrive in the oasis of Palm Valley, the only area in Central Australia where red cabbage palms survive • From your 4WD and on foot, you’ll be amazed by the enormous rock formations, pinnacles, gorges and endless palm trees • Enjoy a picnic lunch in Finke Gorge National Park and hear about the park’s cultural significance for the Arrernte people • Visit Hermannsburg Aboriginal Community, the birthplace of artist Albert Namatjira. View amazing artworks at the gallery and explore the historic buildings
