The Sunset SUP tour, starts early evening and finishing after the sun goes down.

Heading down theYarra River towards South bank & Crown Casino, see Melbourne like you have never seen it before. (2hr SUP tour/tuition) Full training is given and lifejackets are provided. This is a guided tour for up to 8 participants.

Your experienced Monkey Business instructor/guide will teach you everything you need to know about SUPing on the Yarra River and have you paddling confidently before the tour commences. By the end of the tour you'll be SUPing like a pro on our safe and stable boards, and having so much fun you may want to do it all over again! During your trip your guide will point out the many unique features of the Yarra river, its Bridges, gardens and prominent landmarks.

So, do i need lessons?     YES!!!!

SUPing is fun & easy on the river.... if you start with the correct technique. Our experienced instructors will make sure you are off to your best start for a fun, safe day on the water!

On your tour you will learn:

Located on the banks of the beautiful Yarra River

We meet next to the Yarra Boatsheds on the south bank of the Melbourne's Yarra River, opposite Federation Square.

From Federation Square, cross the Princess (Swanston Street) Bridge.

Turn left and stroll down the ramp to the rowing boatsheds. Always call to confirm your booking.As well as your instructor/guide, we provide ALL NECESSARY EQUIPMENT, including board, paddle, leash, lifejacket, wetsuit and booties. We will even take your photo!

Tour Q & A

I have never been on a SUP before. Is that OK?

Absolutely. Your guide will give you lots of help and the tour begins with a training component.

 

Is SUP safe?

There are inherent dangers with water based activities but all steps are taken to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable trip.

 

How old do I have to be? 

12 yrs and older for the Sunset tour. 

 

Will I get wet?

Generally no, you may get a slightly wet feet getting onto the SUP. It is still a good idea to bring along a towel and a change of clothes if you absolutely have to look your best afterwards! 

 

What kind of SUP’s do you use on the tour? 

The most stable and easy to paddle, think of it as a massive platform from which to enjoy the tour and take plenty of snaps along the way. 

 

I don’t know if I am fit enough? 

If you occasionally play sport, walk, work out or are somewhat active you will be fine. The paddling is not too strenuous.

 

What if I want to come along by myself?

No problem! We can look after you and you will meet some new friends as well.

 

Can I paddle with a friend? 

Yes, the more the merrier.

 

How long are the tours? 

The Sunset Tour is 2hrs in duration and starts 90min before sunset, please call for exact time.

 

How many people on each tour? 

Regular tours have a maximum of 8 but larger groups can be accommodated.

 

What does it include? 

All your SUP and safety equipment is provided including Life jacket, wetsuit and booties if you like. Your guide is there to answer any questions and look after you.

 

What do I need to bring?

You may wish to bring along extra water, hat, snacks and a camera. No special clothing is required - just dress appropriately for the weather. A towel and a change of clothes is a good idea if you are going out after the tour.

 

Can I take pictures?

Absolutely. There will be plenty of time for snaps along the way. Disposable waterproof cameras are ideal but we have had very few problems with digital cameras- so far! You can always ask your guide to hang on to your digital camera until you need it.

 

What if it rains? 

Supping in the rain is more fun than it sounds! The tours run rain, hail or shine; however, we reserve the right to cancel a tour if it is unsafe, usually due to strong winds. If you are worried about the weather you can call us on 0424 290 668

 

What if I have already paid and the tour gets cancelled?

We offer you another date and reschedule.

 

What if I have already paid and I need to reschedule?

Please give us at least 24 hours notice so we can attempt to fill your spot. No refunds will be given for cancellations within 24 hours

SUPing is safe & easy on the River.... if you start with the correct technique. Our experienced instructors will make sure you are off to your best start for a fun and safe Sunset SUP tour on the water!

This is how your Sunset Tour will go;

  1. We like you to arrive 15min before your Sunset Tour to get kitted out in wetsuit etc and fill in the necessary paper work.
  2. We start with 10min on the River bank, going through the equipment, river rules and correct paddling technique.
  3. We then get into the water and onto the board, starting on our knees we practice all the paddling and turning techniques.
  4. As soon as you have it down, up we go, standing and paddling, riding the swell and getting more and more confident as the Tour progresses
  5. You will be guided down the river on our safe and stable Naish SUP boards, comming back after dark, seeing Melbourne on Sunset is pure magic and the best news is that everyone can Stand Up Paddle on the Yarra River.

?During your Tour we work on developing correct technique and Core strength, all important to ensure you have the best time possible.
