Dragon Bus China: Yangshuo to Hong Kong

Dragon Bus China is your best choice in China for independent style travel.  Safe, fun affordable and best of all hassle free all while travelling with like minded friends!

Bookings: Early confirmation is recommended to ensure you get your accommodation option.

Day 1: Guilin, Longsheng and a magical Rice Terrace
You will join the Dragon Bus on their arrival into Guilin from Guangzhou. Meeting at a pre nominated hostel, you'll meet your Trip Leader & Dragon Bus before heading directly to a small village in the Dragons (no joke) Backbone Rice Terraces. This location is all that you've seen or read about, however we steer clear of the main tourist area as we've found our own amazing place. Here you'll experience these amazing terraces built as far back as the Yuan dynasty. The terraces wind their way through the surrounding mountains, offering unbeatable views and an experience you won't forget. You'll stay overnight in a small rural village home stay, which again could be a highlight!

Day 2: Dragon Back Bone & a sunrise you should never forget
Rise early for the most amazing sunrise you will witness. Yes from the top of the rice terraces it's something you should not miss and will not forget. While the sunset can be good we believe the sun rising over the rice terraces is an event worth the entire cost of this Pass. After this it's a breakfast of local delights before the Trip Leader and the group spend the whole day exploring this magical paradise. The incredible scenery of this picturesque mountain area will surely be hard to beat, but you've still got 7 days to go!

Day 3 & 4: Amazing Yangshuo. Ready, Set, Go.......
Yangshuo is a paradise that's unlike anywhere else in China! On return to Yangshuo we'll stay for a full two days, which is enough time for you to get out and experience its soaring limestone peaks or karsts formed thousands of years ago. The attraction in this city range from bike riding, hanging out in laid back cafes, indoor and outdoor rock climbing and the best of all floating down the Li River either in a tractor tyre with a few beers or on a bamboo raft, "It's Your Choice."

Day 5: Lunch with a farming family beside a freshwater stream
Today we will join a local farming family who will cook a local lunch for you. Lunch will be in a picnic setting alongside a picture perfect freshwater stream. This family is a real farming family, not some packaged culture tour that many others simply provide. Dragon Bus have partnered with the family and hope that we can provide some additional revenue for the family in return for them simply showing you a piece of "Real" China.  After lunch we head back to Yangshuo village where you can hire and ride a moped into the countryside, do some rock-climbing or explore underground waterfalls and streams. Being the last night the group joins together for a dinner of amazing local cuisine.

Day 6: Guilin to Guangzhou
Wake early and explore the city of Guilin. The city offers much for all and you'll have the whole day to get out and explore it before we leave on the overnight train to Guangzhou. Lunch with the locals and continue snapping those amazing shots of this beautiful city. Joining the Trip Leader we'll grab some dinner and supplies for the train and then head to your pre booked sleeper cabin. "It's Your Choice", but the train should allow you to rest up, but many have turned the night into a Texas hold'em cards night with their new friends. You'll arrive early into Guangzhou where we transfer to the hostel.

Day 7: Guangzhou - Gateway of the Pearl River Delta
On arrival at the hostel freshen up and hit the streets of Guangzhou where you'll have a full day to explore the city. Guangzhou is a great place to shop as well with leather, pearl, bag and clothing markets everywhere. Your Trip Leader will direct you to the best place to grab all these items in an area where the locals shop!  Best of all there is no haggling as you'll only pay the marked price (as the locals do). Go for a walk along the riverside boulevard of the Pearl River for a few hours and then let your feet recover with a relaxing foot massage. Some also head out to find that Guangzhou also has some great bars and an even better nightlife scene in trendy bars that seem like they've been imported straight from New York!

Day 8: Guangzhou & a City where East meets West - Hong Kong
After a beautiful Cantonese lunch we make for the railway station (quickest for border crossings) for the 2 hr trip to Hong Kong. The former British colony is alive as much as ever before and is one of the most exciting cities on earth, yes it doesn't sleep! On arrival we'll transfer to the hostel, but you should waste no time in hitting the streets. You'll find electronics markets, clothing markets, a ladies markets and many great restaurants and bars in the Kowloon (Mongkok & Tsim Sha Tsui) area of Hong Kong. Again world renewed for its food, in Hong Kong you can eat from 5 star to street side vendors food and get a great meal. Enjoy your last night and head onto Hong Kong Island for one of its many great bars.

Day 9: Hong Kong as you finish your Dragon Experience
So this day had to come, it's not over as there is much more to see!

Those heading to the airport will receive assistance from the hostel to ensure your transfer is without hassles. IF you're planning on staying longer then you should ensure your bed is pre booked as the hostel does get booked out. Additionally, we can help with Train Fares or Airfares, so make you you've previously enquired about this with your Trip Leader! The front page of the Dragon Bus website has the C Trip booking engine for the cheapest domestic flights and this fully integrated booking system is a secure site that accepts ALL International Credit cards.
