Day 1 : Cairns to Port Douglas
Our welcome meeting takes place at 11am before hitting the road bound for Port Douglas. En-route we visit the Barron Gorge Lookout where the river exits the rainforest, cascading in slow-motion into a deep pool below. It’s only a short drive onto our next destination ‘Kuranda’ a rainforest township known for its markets and a meeting place for the producers who comes from the Atherton Tablelands food-bowl to the West. We grab some lunch before leaving mid-afternoon bound for Port Douglas and settle into our accommodation. In the early evening, we take a short town-tour of Port Douglas, stopping at Trinity Bay before joining a riverboat for a guided cruise among the mangroves and the lurking saltwater crocs. The cruise finishes with sunset, then dinner at a local restaurant. Please attend the welcome meeting as we will be collecting insurance details and next of kin information at this time. If you are going to be late please let your travel agent or hotel reception know. Ask reception or look for a note in the lobby for more information on where the meeting will take place.

Day 2 : Daintree to Port Douglas
After breakfast we board a ferry and cross the river into the Daintree Rainforest. We learn some of the many secrets of the oldest rainforest in the world. We meander further along Cooper Creek, keeping an eye out for an abundance of bird and wildlife. We break for lunch in the heart of the rainforest for an optional swim in the pool, before moving onto Cape Tribulation. We take a change of scenery heading to the beach to learn more about connection between the two world Heritage regions of the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree. Dinner at our accommodation’s restaurant completes the day.

Day 3 : Port Douglas
Take the time to stroll around Port Douglas at your own leisure. With plenty of activities to choose, such as nature experiences, snorkelling, and Great Barrier Reef excursions, be careful, as the day will quickly pass you by. Your guide will also close-by to provide a transfers to Port Douglas town at 10 am and 6.30 pm if you want to explore the Port Douglas shopping precinct. If you’d prefer a full day of relaxation, consider the spa treatments at the resort or take the time to read a book by the pool.

Day 4 : Mossman Gorge to Port Douglas
After breakfast it’s a relatively short drive to Mossman Gorge for a rainforest walk. An easy 1.5-hour hike, then some morning tea (optional) before heading to Kuyu Kuyu (Cooya Beach) for an educational experience with a local First Nations staff member. Learn how to throw a spear, understand how Kuku Yalanji people live ‘in-sync’ with the always-changing seasons. Following lunch, join a First Nations painting class in the afternoon. Return to the resort in the sunset for some time to relax. Grab dinner tonight with your group and toast to the beauty of the country around you.

Day 5 : Port Douglas to Cairns
After breakfast take the opportunity for one last swim before departing for Cairns. There’s a drop-off at the Cairns airport before making it back to Cairns city area where your trip finishes.
